The Isolation Interviews - Fariha Róisín
Writer, Artist and Actress
Australian-Canadian writer, artist and actress Fariha Róisín works in poetry, visual art and essays, among other mediums, to explore and affirm her identity as a queer Muslim woman.
Fariha's first novel, Like A Bird was released this year, is an exploration of what recovery looks like after abuse and acts as a guide and salve for survivors.
As she explained in a recent The New York Times interview, "I want people to come away reading this book and believe in survival - like, look at the possibility of what that is".
Fariha - who recently joined Violet as Deputy Editor - shared a handful of the books, films and ideas which are keeping her company in isolation. We hope they can keep you company, too.
